How to fill a slow Tuesday with a 30-second text blast
4 min read
Every restaurant has a Tuesday problem. Here's the fix.
**Step 1 — Segment** In your guest CRM, filter to "ordered or dined in the last 90 days" + "opted in to SMS". You probably have 300–800 people in that bucket.
**Step 2 — Write the text** Keep it short. One offer. One CTA.
> Hey, it's Nonna's. Tuesday is dead over here 🍝 — we're doing $15 off a $50 dine-in ticket tonight only. Walk in and mention this text. Reply STOP to opt out.
**Step 3 — Send it around 3:30pm** Late enough that dinner plans aren't locked. Early enough to catch the after-work decision.
**Step 4 — Measure** Redemption rates on a good list run 4–8%. On 500 recipients at $50 average ticket, that's $1,000–$2,000 of unplanned Tuesday sales for 30 seconds of work.
Don't do this every Tuesday. Once a month max, and rotate the offer. Otherwise you train guests to wait for the discount.
